Bright Raven Gymnastics Boys Team traveled to Syracuse March 23-24 to compete in the USA Gymnastics Compulsory State Championships. Each of the boys qualified for the State Championships by earning high all around scores in USAG sanctioned competitions held earlier in the season.

At States, all three of Bright Raven's Class 6 competitors qualified to advance to Regional. In the competition for boys age 7-9, Luke Nowak of Brockport took fifth place in two events scoring a 9.05 on the parallel bars and a 9.20 on high bar. He also earned sixth place in floor exercise with a 9.30 and eighth place all around with a total of 53.75 competing in all six of the men's events. Kevin Kirkland of Greece competed in the Class 6 competition for boys age 12 and older taking second place all around with a score of 52.70. In the individual events, Kevin also placed first on the pommel horse (9.30), first on the parallel bars (9.25), second on the rings (9.05), third in vaulting (9.00), and fifth place in both floor exercise (8.20) and high bar (7.90). Isaac Nowak of Brockport competed in the Class 6 competition for boys age 10-11 earning an all around score of 46.85. The three boys will travel to the University of Maryland Baltimore Campus-Cantonsville April 13-14 to compete in the Region VII Championships.

In the Class 7 competition for boys 10-11, Christian Zale of Brockport earned fifth all around scoring 54.25. In the individual events, Christian placed second in vaulting (9.00), fourth in high bar (8.90), fifth on pommel horse (9.00) and rings (9.40) and sixth on the parallel bars (9.20). Travis Gray of Scottsville competed in the same division totaling 52.90 all around.

Adam Nowak of Brockport competed in the Class 5 competition for gymnasts ages 12 and over and totaled 49.50 all around.
