Churchville-Chili's Pegler back from Alaska

Don’t lose those parade plans anytime soon if you live in Churchville, because you may have another hockey-related reason to have another gathering in the not-too-distant future.

Churchville resident Lindsay Pegler traveled to Anchorage, Alaska April 3-7 as a member of the Buffalo Bisons Under-15 girl’s hockey team which finished third in the twelve-team tournament. The team won the New York State title to advance to the nationals.

After advancing to the semi-finals, the Bisons played two-time defending champ Assabet, Massachusetts but lost 5-4 and were awarded third place as a result of a better overall record. Assabet went on to win their third title in a row by defeating Wisconsin in the finals.

Pegler finished with two assists in five games from her position on defense. She is in her third year with the team which finished seventh last season in the same tournament and won the Southwest, Ontario title as the only U.S. team two seasons ago.
