Apartment complex adds computer lab

Seldon Square Apartments offers a free computer lab for residents of Seldon Square featuring five IBM Pentium III computers with the most popular software programs: Word, Excel, Publisher and more. Road Runner, high-speed access to the internet, has been installed for the benefit of computer users. Volunteers Patrick Gell and Steve Falcheck, a Seldon Square resident, put in many hours to make this possible. Gell and Falcheck devised a network allowing the computers to connect to a single access for high-speed Internet service and to one shared printer.

Steve Falcheck is also one of the adult volunteer supervisors and has volunteered to train people on the use of the computer, the software programs and how to use the internet. Seldon Square residents have volunteered to provide seventeen hours of lab supervision per week covering four days for use by adults and children of Seldon Square Apartments.

Seldon Square, 99 Sunset Center Lane, Brockport, owned and managed by Rural Opportunities, Inc., consists of 30 two and three bedroom units built in 1999. The Computer and Homework Lab is located in the community building, which also houses the management office.
