•Scharvogel, William F. Sr., Monday, April 15, 2002, age 81. Retired sales engineer with Hub-Langie Fuel Company. Husband of Shirley Fischer Scharvogel; father of Karen (Richard) Boehly, Pamela (Larry) Goodale, William (Krystyna) Scharvogel Jr.; grandfather of Charles Boehly, Chad (Julianna) Boehly, William L. Scharvogel, Lee Goodale and Joshua Goodale.

A Funeral Mass was said April 18 at St. Vincent DePaul Church. Burial St. Vincent DePaul Cemetery. Memorials can be made to 911 Memorial Monument Fund, c/o St. Vincent DePaul Church, 11 North Main Street, Churchville 14428.


BROCKPORT

•Messer, George F., of Sweden Hills Road, Sunday, April 14, 2002 in the Lakeside Hospital, Brockport. Born January 13, 1924 in Buffalo. He was a son of Fred and Frances Cullen Messer. In 1949 in Ontario, Canada, he married Marguerite Martin who pre-deceased him on November 28, 1991. He was a WWII Navy Veteran and retired from Eastman Kodak in 1994. Surviving are two sons, John Messer and Christopher Messer; daughter, Rosemarie Reynolds; brother, Edward Messer; sister Romaine (Loren) Knott; fiancee, Donna Watters Miller.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held April 17, 2002 in St. Bonaventure Church in Allegany. Burial in the St. Bonaventure Cemetery. Memorials can be made to the Comstock Hospice Care Network, 1225 W. State Street, Olean, NY 14760.


HAMLIN

•Mitchell, Vera (Baker), April 14, 2002, at the age of 90. She is predeceased by her husband, Warren; great-grandson, Chad. She is survived by her son, William (Marian) Mitchell; grandchildren. Thomas (Sherrie), John, Michael (Marilyn), Kathleen (Richard) Eichen-berger, Barbara (Jeff) Miner, William (Debra), Robert (Millie) and David; 18 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter.

Funeral Services were held April 18 at Fowler Funeral Home, Brockport. Interment Lakeside Cemetery, Hamlin. Contributions can be made to a favorite charity.


•Ramsdell, Donna R., On Monday, April 15, 2002. She is survived by her husband, Dennis; her children, Dennis (Donna), Shawn (Michelle), Lori Ann (Tim) Ramsdell; six grandchildren; her brothers and sisters, Sylvia (Dick) Neahr, Maggie Gunderson, Patty (John) Dunkin, Alice (Hank) Lowell, Jane Thornton, Ben Thornton; several nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service was held Saturday, April 20 at the St. John's Lutheran Church of Hamlin. Friends can make contributions to the Alzheimer's Association.


HOLLEY

•Smith, Sandra L. (Olsowski), Age 44 of S. Brunswick Township, New Jersey, formerly of Holley, died April 10, 2002. She is survived by her husband, Scott; daughter, Laura, at home; parents, Frank and Eleanor Olsowski of Holley; sister, Joyce (John) Allheim of Henrietta; brother, Donald (Charlene Stillwell) Olsowski of Albion; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Steve Smith, Mr. and Mrs. Chris Smith and Mr. and Mrs. Eric Smith; mother-in-law, Nancy Smith of Holley; sister-in-law Tammy Olsowski of LeRoy and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Sandra was predeceased by her brother, David.

A Memorial Service was held at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc., Holley, April 13. Memorials can be made to the Breast Cancer Resource Center, 914 Commons Way, Princeton, New Jersey 08540.


SPENCERPORT

•Quigley, William, Saturday, April 6, 2002 in Mesa, Arizona. He is survived by his children, Richard, Mark, Kathleen (Harold) Moulton and Steven Quigley; his grandchildren, Jesse and Megan Moulton; his three brothers, John (Laura) Quigley, Robert (Joan) Quigley and Donald (Patricia) Quigley; his former wife, Shirley; nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services and interment were scheduled in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
