A 200-bed residence hall, opened last fall and known generically as North Hall this school year, was named April 23 in honor of Donald F. and Maxine B. Davison, former owners of the Ogden Telephone Company and longtime supporters of Roberts Wesleyan College.

The Davisons have faithfully supported the growth and development of the college for over 50 years, said Peter McCown, vice president for development.

Mrs. Davison and her late husband developed an interest in Roberts Wesleyan in the early 1950s soon after assuming ownership of the Ogden Telephone Company, McCown explained. The Davisons recognized this small college in the community would need their involvement and financial support to grow and succeed, McCown said. "So they adopted Roberts Wesleyan and have provided it with leadership and financial resources ever since."

Don would be pleased to have a residence hall on the campus of Roberts Wesleyan College bear his name because of his love for young people," Mrs. Davison said.

The Davisons also were recognized in 1996 with the naming of the Davison Art Gallery in the Roberts Cultural Life Center.
