Bright Raven gymnasts participated in the Lilac Invitational held at the ESL Sports Center April 13-14.

Seventeen teams were represented in the Level 5 competition, where Bright Raven captured second place with many gymnasts winning individually also. Twelve year old Amber Kober of Ogden competed in the Senior division capturing first place all around scoring 36.65 and first place in three events. She was first on the uneven parallel bars (9.35), balance beam (9.125) and floor exercise (9.30). On vaulting Amber placed third (8.875). In the same division, Kristina Wolf of North Greece won first place in vaulting (9.275). Sherilyn DiRoma of Hilton took fourth place all around with a score of 34.85 and placed in each event. She was fifth on bars (8.60), fifth on floor exercise (8.925), ninth on beam (8.85) and tenth on vaulting (8.475). Maura Wojak of Chili was fourth on beam (9.05) and seventh on floor (8.90). Erin Kolb of Chili placed fourth on bars (8.70) and seventh on beam (8.925). Allison Grove of Chili was eighth on bars (8.45). In the Junior B Division, 11 year old Breanna Fischer of Gates took first place in floor exercise (9.45) and seventh all around (35.25). Kara Golis of Churchville was sixth all around (35.375), eighth on bars (8.75) and ninth in vault (8.825). Amanda Arcieri of Chili placed seventh in floor exercise (9.20). In the Junior A division, 8-year-old Rachel Eckert of Irondequoit placed seventh on bars (8.75). Other Bright Raven gymnasts contributing to the Level 5 team effort included Bethany Ayers of Churchville, Amanda Clapper of Spencerport, Cassie Dean and Nicole Morone of Churchville, Maura Donovan of Chili, Alyssa Kober of Ogden and Gina Mattioli of Greece.

In the Level 8 Senior competition, Jackie VanDeWater of Churchville took first place in vaulting (9.275). Brianna D'Errico of Byron took third place in floor exercise (9.20), seventh bars (9.00) and tenth all around (34.85). Tracy Apeland of Chili finished eighth all-around (35.30), seventh on beam (8.80) and eighth on vault (8.80). In the Junior division, Christine Manthei of Chili placed ninth on bars (8.95).

In Level 6 Senior division, 12-year-old Julie Mingoea of Spencerport took third all around (35.80) and medalled in each event with a second place in vault (9.40), ninth in floor (9.20), and tenth on both beam (8.95) and bars (8.25). Amanda Westcott of Brockport finished sixth all around (35.25), fourth on floor (9.40) and fifth on bars (8.55). Cori Earls of Henrietta placed seventh on beam (9.025). In the Junior division, Megan Seuffert of Gates was awarded tenth place in floor exercise (9.375).

The Level 4 team earned many honors also. Twelve year old Emily Guetnecht of Rochester placed fourth all around (36.15) in the Senior division. In the individual events Emily placed second on floor (9.40) and fifth on both bars (8.65) and beam (9.15). Natalia Filip of Gates took seventh all around (35.80) in the same division and also took fourth in vault (9.50), seventh on bars (8.55) and tenth on floor (8.90). Ashley Miles of North Greece placed third on floor (9.25), seventh on vault (9.30) and ninth on bars (8.50). Erin Schoeneman of Spencerport placed fifth on vault (9.45) and eighth on floor (9.00).
