April 27, 2002
Max and his mother get together for a quick hug before the parade. According to his mom: “Max is still on medication but has an undetectable level of HIV in his blood. He’s becoming a young man, a great young man!” On his float in the parade, Max used a bat to hit foam balls to the crowd embossed with the message: “Wishes really do come true.”
