ALBION

McCabe, Bernice "Bee," May 9, 2002 at the Orleans County Nursing Home at the age of 88. Mrs. McCabe was the daughter of the late Francis J. (Victoria Wochna) Strebe. She was born in Medina and lived in the Albion area for the majority of her life.

She was an accountant for T.J. Lipton's in Albion until 1975 when she retired. Following her retirement she became the secretary and bookkeeper for Saint Joseph's Church. She was an active member of St. Joseph's Church, Catholic Daughters, Ladies of Charity, Diocesan Bishop's Committee and the Saint Joseph's Bereavement Committee.

She was predeceased by her husband, Walter J. and her son James. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Beverley McCabe of Tucson, Arizona; two grandchildren, Judith McCabe and James (Eva) McCabe both of Tucson, Arizona; two great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; one nephew and several cousins.

A Mass of Christian Burial was said May 14 at St. Joseph's Church. Interment St. Mary's Cemetery in Medina. Those wishing can make memorial remembrances to St. Joseph's Church.


BROCKPORT

Merget, Earl F. "Whitey," On Monday, May 6, 2002 in San Antonio, Texas. He is survived by his two daughters, Diane and Becky both of San Antonio, Texas; sisters, Jean Iveson and Jeanette Wilson both of Brockport; several nieces and nephews. Whitey was a retiree of the Eastman Kodak Company, a Navy veteran of WWII and a member of the American Legion and VFW Post in Brockport, Holley, Lafayette, Louisiana, San Antonio, Texas. He was a member of the Harrison Hose Com-pany of the Brockport Fire Department.

Funeral Services were held May 11 at Fowler Funeral Home Inc., Brockport. Interment Lake View Cemetery. Contributions can be made to the American Arthritis Foundation in his memory.


Swan, Andrew M., On Tuesday, May 14, 2002. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Jean; his son, Richard (Betty) of Brockport; grandsons, Robert and David; great-grandsons, Robert, Tyler and Timothy.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.


CHURCHVILLE

Bird, Samuel Jr., Friday, May 10, 2002 at age 81. He was predeceased by his wife, Beverly (Coxford) Bird, his daughter, Jeanne Alison and his son-in-law, Peter Marszalek. He is survived by his daughters, Janalee Marszalek, Jerilyn (Gary) Pimm and Jacqueline Nowak; his sons, Sam (Carol) Bird and Robert Bird; his sister, Ella Footer; his good friends, June Baker and Art Hunter; 12 grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Sam retired from the Genesee Brewery in 1983.

Funeral Services were held May 14 at Walker Brothers Company Funeral Home, Inc., Churchville. Interment Creekside Cemetery. Contributions can be made to the Churchville Fire Department or to Visiting Nurse Service Hospice in his memory.


HAMLIN

Hollink, Eva E. (Granny), On May 13, 2002 at age 78. She is predeceased by her husband, Harold Hollink (1972); beloved mother of Beatrice (Ron Mapes) Suhr, William (Barbara) Hollink, Rebecca (Rodney) Hughson and Shirley (James Krempasky) Hollink; also 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; her brothers, James Dickerson of Niagara Falls and Frank (Betty) Dickerson Jr. of Holley; also many nieces, nephews and close friends.

A Service Celebrating her life was held May 17 at the Thomas E. Burger Funeral Home, Hilton. Interment at Lakeside Cemetery, Hamlin. Those wishing can contribute to the Humane Society of Rochester and Monroe County, P.O. Box 299, Fairport, NY 14450, in her memory.


HILTON

Ware, Iva M. (Finch), on May 11, 2002 in her 81st year. Survived by her daughter, Shirley Dingman of Rochester; special nephew, Patrick Given of Florida; and other nieces, nephews, and cousins. Predeceased by her husband, Ned Ware in 1988.

A Graveside Service was held May 15 at Baptist Rural Cemetery, Sodus Center.


SPENCERPORT

Fogg, Daniel A., Suddenly, Monday, May 13, 2002 at age 21. He is survived by his father David A. Fogg of Ogden; his mother Deborah Carney of New York City; his brother Christopher; his sister, Elizabeth (Anthony) Ababon; nephew Alec Ababon; maternal grandmother, Patricia VanLare; many aunts, uncles and cousins. Daniel was a Greater Rochester/Finger Lakes Poster Child for Muscular Dystrophy for several years.

Funeral Services were held May 17 at Walker Brothers Company Funeral Home, Inc., Spencerport. Interment in Lakeview Cemetery, Brockport. Contributions can be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association in his memory.


Smith, Thomas E., Monday, May 13, 2002 at age 95. He is survived by his wife of 53 years Agnes (Wehner) Smith; his son and daughter-in-law Charles "Tom" and Christine Smith of Churchville; his four grandchildren Jennifer, Pamela, Amanda and Mark; brother-in-law Ralph Wehner, sister-in-law Jane Wehner; several nieces and nephews. He was a member of Local #13 Plumbers and Pipefitters Union.

A Funeral Mass was said May 16 at St. John's Church, Spencerport. Interment St. John's Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the Church Fund of St. John's Church or to the Churchville Fire Department Am-bulance in his memory.
