Churchville-Chili showcases authentic learning initiatives

The Churchville-Chili School District hosts a community event on May 22. The district's second annual Celebration of Technology Integration and Authentic Learning will involve students, teachers, and staff district-wide, showcasing the many creative initiatives that feature not only innovative uses of technology but also fascinating approaches to teaching and learning.

The community is invited to participate. There will be classroom visitations, an exhibition area and breakout presentations, with more than fifty presentations and exhibitions scheduled.
The showcase presentations include: Advanced Placement English Renaissance Project; Guided Reading Showcase: An Inclusive Classroom Project; and Electronic Career Planner Demonstration.

The exhibits on display include: Japanese Flower Arranging using Mathematical Proportions and Angles; Wellness Class Web Page: A Final Exam; Instructional Technology in K-12 Music Education; Using Digital Photography to Increase Communication; Electronic Portfolios: Technology Integration in Social Studies; From Research to Production: Technology in Spanish; Historical Research; and Web Page Design: An Artist at Work.

Participants should register by contacting Geri Pehta at 293-1800, ext. 2041. Participants should report to the greeter's desk in the Middle School's main foyer. The schedule is as follows:
9 a.m. to 2 p.m. - classroom visitations; 2 to 5:30 p.m. exhibition displays; 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. - showcase presentations.
