Bright Raven gymnasts compete at states

Bright Raven gymnast Julie Mingoea of Spencerport earned four medals at the USA Gymnastics Level 6 State Championships held in Latham May 4-5. She competed among 104 gymnasts in the 12 and over age division from New York state and took fifth place all around, scoring 36.225, and also medalled in three of the individual events finishing fifth in vaulting (9.425), fourth on balance beam (9.275) and twelfth in floor exercise (8.875). In the same division, Amanda Westcott of Brockport placed tenth on the uneven parallel bars (9.10) and Sabrina Hill of Hamlin was eleventh in vaulting (9.25).

Megan Seuffert of Gates competed in the 10-11 age division among 94 gymnasts and placed third on bars (9.35), sixth on beam (9.25) and eighth all around (36.375).

Forty-three teams were represented at the Level 6 State Championships. As a team, Bright Raven finished in fifth place. Sara D'Angio of Pittsford, Kim Golis of Churchville and Jacky Miller of Henrietta also contributed to the team effort.
