Catholic Daughters essay contest winners announced

The annual Catholic Daughters Court Nativity #931 Essay Contest winners were recently chosen. This year five schools participated in the contest: Brockport Central Fred Hill School, Christ Community Church School, Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary School, Brockport, St. John the Evangelist, Spencerport, and Children's Home Workshop. Seventy children participated and the topics were "The Touch of God's Love" and "The Influences in My Life." Money prizes were awarded to the students. Division I winners were: First prize, Amber Champlin, Grade 5, St. John's; Second prize, Michelle Henry, grade 4, Nativity; and Third prize, Marissa Mannix, Grade 5, Hill School. Division 2 winners were: First prize, Elaine Larock, Grade 8, Christ Community; Second prize, Danny Brownhill, Grade 8, Christ Community; and Third prize, Justin Jackson, Grade 6, St. John's. The Division 3 winner was Greta Johnson, Grade 10, Christ Community Church Home School. She won first prize.
