Amadeus Chorale concert and auditions scheduled

The Amadeus Chorale will present a concert entitled "The Red, White & Blue Concert" on Saturday, June 1 at 7 p.m. at Third Presbyterian Church, Meigs Street and East Avenue in Rochester. The concert will feature all four Amadeus Chorale Choirs. Tickets will be available at the door for $3 per person or $10 per family.

The Youth and Concert Choirs and the Cantorei Singers are under the direction of Darla Bair, founder and artistic director of the Amadeus Chorale. The Children's Choir is under the direction of Emily John. Choreography for the concert is by Lisa Stendardo.

Open auditions are coming soon for all of the Amadeus Chorale choirs including the newest one, The Treble Choir, which will be forming for the 2002/2003 singing season. Singers in grades 2-5 may audition for this new choir that will have a rehearsal site in the Brighton/Rochester area. Interested singers in grades 2-11 may audition for the existing choirs, which currently rehearse in Brockport and Spencerport. No appointment is needed and the auditioning singer need not prepare a vocal selection.

Open auditions in the area are: Friday, May 31 - 5 to 8 p.m. at Gingerbread Manor, 6590 Lake Road, Brockport; Monday, June 3 - 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Gingerbread Manor in Brockport; Friday, June 7 - 4:30 to 8 p.m. at Gingerbread Manor in Brockport; Thursday, June 13 - 6 to 8 p.m. at Gingerbread Manor in Brockport.
