Empire State grant

Lakeside Health System announced that Senator George D. Maziarz and Assemblyman Charles H. Nesbitt have helped secure a grant in the amount of $63,427 from the Empire State Development Corporation's Community Enhancement Facilities Assistance Program. Their support will be dedicated to the costs associated with the planned renovation of Lakeside's Obstetrics Department. This renovation is part of the hospital expansion that will be supported by the Lakeside "Building for the Next Generation" Capital Campaign and includes the expansion of Lakeside's Surgical Department.

"Lakeside is a very special place that provides a critical and highly valued service and I believe helping it meet community needs is an important part of my responsibility as a state legislator representing our area," said Nesbitt. Maziarz and Nesbitt have a long history of garnering resources for Lakeside. "Keeping health care accessible for those who live in rural areas that I represent is a high priority," said Senator Maziarz, "and it's very easy to do when an organization like Lakeside provides such high quality care."

They join the more than 1,440 donors and many volunteers who have helped Lakeside raise more than $2,675,000 toward its goal of $3 million.
