Summer Serenades celebrates Brockport

"We think this year's line up of ethnic dance and local concert music is the hottest summer concert series in Monroe County," said Steve Appleton, series coordinator for the Village of Brockport.

In its seventh year, Summer Serenades is again returning to Sagawa Park, Main Street, Brockport on Thursdays at 7-9 p.m. starting June 13. The series is free and open to the public. Appleton attributed the growth of the series to the generous sponsorship of the Village of Brockport, community collaboration, and a rich array of musical styles. "In a few short years, we've become the front-runners in Monroe County and specifically Western Monroe County for a solid, well received and attended series."

Attendees should bring a blanket or lawn chair. Full schedules can be picked up at area merchants, the new village offices on State Street, Brockport or by calling the Cool Hotline at 637-3984. To be on the E-mail listing for free events like these year round, call the Cool Hotline or email coolkids@rochester.rr.com.
