Brownie Girls
achieve their goal

Two of the Brownie girls from Troop 692 in Brockport, Amber Rice (left) and Melissa Mazurek, had decided last summer that they really wanted to "try it all." In addition to the try-its that the girls earned at the meetings this year, they both had set personal goals to attempt to earn all 58 try-its that are offered at the Brownie level. With their parents' help, and some teamwork between the two girls, they both met this goal by the final Brownie meeting this year. Just before the girls bridged to Juniors, they were recognized by their troop leaders for their accomplishment. Leaders Marie Rice, Jean Mazurek and Sheryl Wilcox joining in the recognition of two girls who are working hard to take full advantage of the Girl Scouting program. Leader Marie Rice said, "There are times when we have to gently push girls along and there are times when they pull us behind them. This was one of those times when the girls' expectations for themselves were so far beyond our goals for them that they ended up pulling us along as they achieved their goal!"
