Challenge issued for summer readers

Hamlin Teens vs. Seymour Teens vs. Ogden Teens

Beginning June 24, teens in grades 6-12 can register for the summer reading program at the Hamlin Public Library. When teens register, they will receive a form for them to keep track of the hours they read. Whichever library's teens read the most hours will win a pizza party courtesy of the other competing libraries. Teens can read any type of book they like as long as they keep track of their hours and return their forms to the library. Forms can be picked up when they register beginning June 24.

This program runs through August 2.

Beginning July 1, readers preschool through fifth grade can register for the summer reading program at the Hamlin Public Library. Readers need to fill out "tickets" for every 20 minutes they read independently or with someone. When participants "check in" at the library, readers will have a chance to enter their "tickets" for the prizes to be raffled off weekly. Then readers will have a chance to spin a special wheel to figure out what category of book to read next.

All reading participants who complete the six week summer reading program will be invited to the Grand Finale on Monday, August 12.
