for National Student Leadership Conference

Two student-athletes from Spencerport, Juniors Megan Reising and Phillip Mannix, have been selected to attend the National Federation of State High School Association's 2002 Student Leadership Conference. This year's conference, "Making a Difference," will be held in Indianapolis, Indiana in July. "This is quite an honor," said Athletic Director John Pelin. "We are very proud of these two young people." The selection process was based on academics, athletic performance and leadership qualities. The conference purpose is to develop positive leadership skills that a student will be able to brink back and share with their school community.

The students, selected to represent Section V (120 high schools were able to nominate candidates), will join approximately 15 other New York state delegates and representatives from all 50 states in a variety of student activities, break-out sessions, community service projects, as well as, attending a WNBA Indiana Fever basketball game and touring the NCAA Hall of Champions.
