Everett Hobart, Judy McNamara and Dan May were each honored at the Greater Rochester Community of Churches (GRCC) ceremony on Tuesday, June 4, for their inspiring work. The Faith in Action celebration provides an opportunity for recognizing people whose actions through faith have been particularly empowering and resourceful. This year the banquet was held at t he Holidome in Henrietta.

The Brockport Ecumenical Outreach Committee nominated Everett Hobart, of Spencerport. His abundant faith and energy have led him into migrant farmworker camps for almost ten years as a Hispanic Migrant Ministry volunteer. Everett's fluency in Spanish has helped enable him to provide a warm welcome to those who are strangers in our community. His ability to convey the realities of migrant life helps him to effectively appeal for congregational support, without which the ministry could not exist.

The First Presbyterian Church of Brockport nominated Judy McNamara and Dan May. Judy and Dan took the lead in keeping worship strong in the congregation when the church suddenly found itself without a minister at the beginning of the year. Dan coordinates Sunday services, even preaching himself at times. Judy assists Dan with worship preparation and with securing supply ministers.
