July 2 - August 15: Watercolors and mixed media paintings by June Martino entitled "Color My Moods" will be featured in GO ARTS!'s Batavia Gallery, 204 East Main Street. Gallery hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, or by appointment. Free and open to the public. Opening reception TBA.

July - mid-August: Continuing in the GO ART! Medina Satellite Gallery is an exhibit of Historic Canal Prints featuring the reconstruction of the Erie Barge Canal in Medina. The prints were made from original negatives donated to the Genesee-Orleans Regional Arts Council by the New York State Museum. The Genesee-Orleans Regional Arts Council's Satellite Gallery is located in the front section of the Orleans County Chamber of Commerce, 433 Main Street in Medina. The exhibit is open 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, closed 1 to 2 p.m. for lunch, and is sponsored by Webster & Schubel. Free and open to the public.

July 2 - mid-August: Mary Norton's "Travel Photography" will be on exhibit at the GO ART! Satellite Gallery in Albion, located inside Kafana Gourmet Coffee, 10 East Bank Street. The Gallery is open 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays. Free and open to the public.

Thursday, July 4 at 11 a.m.: GO ART! partners with Powerhouse Gym to host the 3rd Annual Powerhouse Gym Firecracker 5K Run for the Arts. The race will start and finish at Centennial Park in Batavia, and will precede the 24th Annual Picnic in the Park. Applications can be downloaded off GO ART!'s web site at www.goart.org and are available at the GO ART! office, 204 East Main Street in Batavia, or at Powerhouse Gym, 624 East Main Street in Batavia. Thursday, July 4 from noon to 5 p.m.: GO ART! presents the 24th Annual Picnic in the Park from noon to 5 p.m. The event features all-day live musical entertainment, an arts and crafts show, children's activities, folk arts performances, food vendors. This year's featured acts are the Feadán Or Pipe Band and the Genesee Community Orchestra/Band/Chorus, a collaborative endeavor by musicians from throughout the region for this year's celebration of the Genesee County Bicentennial. Free fun for the whole family.

Thursday and Friday, August 8 and 9: GO ART!'s Orleans County Youth Theatre Program will present "Jack and the Beanstalk" at the Medina High School Auditorium, Maple Ridge Road, Medina. Performances will take place Thursday, August 8 at 2 p.m. and Friday, August 9 at 2 p.m. and again at 7 p.m. Auditions will be held Tuesday, July 2 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. for Orleans County youth entering grade 4 in the fall through college-age who are interested in participating.

Saturday, August 10 at 7 p.m.: GO ART! and Orleans County Tourism present a folk art concert by Trinidad and Tobago Steelband at the Orleans County Marine Park in Point Breeze as part of the 2nd Annual "Taste of Orleans." The concert will feature steel drum musical styles such as calypso, soca and reggae, as well as other popular, traditional and even classical music. Bring along a folding chair or blanket. Admission is free.

Friday - Sunday, August 16 to 18: The 9th Annual "Wing Ding Weekend" kicks off in downtown Batavia - a three-day event with a dance on Ellicott Street (Rt. 63) on Friday evening followed by a classic car show on Main Street (Rt. 5) on Saturday and Batavia Rotary's Fly-In Breakfast on Sunday. GO ART! presents the "Wing Ding" Arts & Crafts Show & Sale Saturday night from 6 to 11 p.m. on Main Street. Food vendors, children's games, ethnic music, arts and crafts, classic car show. Admission is free.

Friday and Saturday, August 23 and 24: GO ART!'s Genesee County Summer Youth Theatre presents the musical "Godspell." This production of Godspell is based on the renowned Broadway show, one of the biggest off-Broadway and Broadway successes of all time. The performances will take place Friday and Saturday, August 23 and 24 at 7:30 p.m. at the Batavia Middle School in Batavia.

Mid-August - September: An exhibit of photography by Veronica Morgan entitled "Red, White and Blue Americans Living Together in Orleans County" is featured at the Genesee-Orleans Regional Arts Council's Satellite Gallery in the front section of the Orleans County Chamber of Commerce, 433 Main Street in Medina. The exhibit is funded in part by the New York State Council on the Arts Decentralization Regrant Program. The Satellite Gallery is open 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, closed 1 to 2 p.m. for lunch. Free and open to the public.

Mid-August - September: Don McLaen's black-and-white photography will be on exhibit in the GO ART! Satellite Gallery in Albion. The gallery is located inside Kafana Gourmet Coffee, 10 East Bank Street and is open 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays. Free and open to the public.
