Calls for June 9 – June 15
19 total calls for the week including seven (7) medical calls, five (5) fire alarms, and four (4) motor vehicle accidents.

June 9
1:59 p.m. – One engine and two chiefs responded to Carlotta Drive for report of a rubbish fire. Fire extinguished. All equipment back in service at 2:22 p.m.

June 10
7:15 p.m. – One engine and chief responded to Lifetime Assistance on Nichols Street for a fire alarm activated. Activation caused by malfunctioning alarm. Avoidable alarm report filed with Town of Ogden. All equipment back in service at 7:26 p.m.

June 12
5:56 p.m. – Three engines (from Gates, Brockport, and Walker Fire Dept., because they were filling in Spencerport’s three firehouses to help during the carnival) a ladder truck and a chief responded to Ogden Center Road for smoke in the basement. Found insulation burning near vent pipe from hot water heater. No damage to structure or appliance. Back in service at 6:15 p.m.

9:07 p.m. – Three engines (from Brockport, Gates, and Walker Fire Department), one rescue and a chief responded to 614 Chambers Street for a car into a telephone pole with one person trapped. Patient extricated at 9:53 p.m. Due to extended extrication, patient was transported by Mercy Flight to Strong Memorial Hospital. Equipment was back in service at 10:43 p.m.

June 14
1:57 a.m. – One engine, and two chiefs responded to Windsorshire Drive for a fire in the back of a pickup truck. Fire extinguished, turned over to Ogden Police for investigation. Back in service at 2:21 a.m.

12:05 p.m. – One engine, ladder, and two chiefs responded to E.J. Wilson Senior High School for a fire alarm. Alarm activated by two smoke bombs set off in first floor hallway. Smoke ventilated and students were allowed to re-enter school. During re-entry a third smoke bomb was set off. The school was again evacuated and smoke ventilated from hallway. Students were allowed to re-enter school without incident at 1:09 p.m. Ogden Police are handling the investigation. The assignment was back in service at 1:14 p.m.

11:00 pm – One engine (from Churchville Fire) and a chief responded to a report of a brush fire at Whittier and Widger Road. Fire extinguished. Fire started from an incendiary device possibly a “Molotov cocktail.” Back in service at 11:06 p.m.

Fourteen (14) total calls for the week including six (6) medical calls, and four (4) fire alarms.

June 18
12:25 p.m. – Two engines responded to a residence on Stony Point Road for natural gas fumes in the structure. No readings on the meter and no hazards found; turned over to RG&E. All equipment back in service at 12:42 p.m.

June 19
9:57 p.m. – One engine and chief responded to Trimmer Road and Ogden Parma Town Line Road for a report of a tree fire. Found a large bonfire in the area; homeowner agreed to extinguish fire. Back in service at 10:04 p.m.
