Night paving job scheduled on West Ridge Road

In recognition of the rough conditions on West Ridge Road in Greece, the New York State Department of Transportation is slated to start a maintenance project July 15 to pave Ridge Road between 390 and North Greece Road. In an effort to minimize impact to the business owners and travelers, arrangements with the town have been made to do the work at night between the approximate hours of 8 p.m. and 8 a.m.

State highway maintenance crews will be grinding the high spots and paving the roadway with a thin layer of asphalt. The entire project is expected to take six to eight days. Crews may work during the weekend.

A minimum of one lane will be open in each direction during work hours. Access to businesses will be maintained, according to the DOT, excluding the amount of time the paving equipment passes by.

Motorists should reduce their speed and watch for moving workers and equipment through the work zone.
