SUNY Brockport College wins $278,190 grant

Congressman John J. LaFalce (D-29, NY) announced that SUNY Brockport College has been awarded a $278,190 grant under the Department of Education's Talent Search program. With this grant, SUNY Brockport will provide support services to low-income, first generation students over the next four years.

"Today's grant award will allow SUNY Brockport to continue to provide students with much-needed tutorial services, academic counseling, and mentoring opportunities," LaFalce explained. "Initiatives such as this can help ensure a better future for needy students trying to successfully complete their post secondary education."

The goal of the Talent Search program is to increase the college retention and graduation rates of its participants and to facilitate the process of transition from one level of higher education to the next.
