Two original one-act plays, "Interrupting Tangents" and "Character," will be performed at the Raymond Adams Cobblestone Hall in Churchville. These productions are being presented by the Town of Riga Recreation and are directed by former Spencerport student Bill Perry, 17, and Churchville-Chili graduate Ryan Toyama, 20, the author of the two works.

Putting on a show is a lot of hard work, but with such a great cast, it's definitely worth doing, and I love every minute of it," says Perry.

"Interrupting Tangents" is a dramatic piece about three friends who get together and discuss their own interpretations on life, relationships, dreams and love. "The purpose of this play is to explore the way we express ourselves," says Toyama, "without formally stating what's on our minds."

"Character" is an absurd comedy, directed by Toyama. The play centers on three struggling writers who have come to realize that they are mere characters in someone else's work. They search for ways to break away from the restrictions placed upon them.

Along with Perry and Toyama, the cast features Pete Giordano, Nora Sanchez, Greg Gallinger, Colleen Boag, and Lani Toyama.

Both plays will be presented Friday and Saturday, August 2 and 3 at 7:30 p.m. in the Raymond Adams Cobblestone Hall, 22 West Buffalo Road, Churchville, located behind the United Methodist Church. Admission is free; donations to benefit of the Red Cross will be accepted.
