Churchville resident is McQuaid's Knight of the Year

Trevor M. Cutaiar has been named McQuaid Jesuit High School's 2002 Knight of the Year. Awarded annually since 1962 by the school newspaper, this honor is given to a student who exemplifies McQuaid ideals. According to Matt Duncan '03, editor-in-chief, "The Lance feels that somewhere among the seniors there is a man who, by his "Knightly Spirit," enthusiasm and general character, deserves to be called "Knight of the Year." He should be a man prominent in his studies and in school activities, according to school representatives.

Voted on by the entire student body, Cutaiar was the overwhelming choice for this award. At an Honors Assembly on May 21, he was presented his award to a standing ovation by the senior class. He was again honored at graduation ceremonies at the Eastman Theater on June 2.

Cutaiar has attended McQuaid since seventh grade. He was a senior captain and goalie for the soccer team, a member of the golf team, and secretary of the Executive Council, while maintaining honor roll status in academics.

Awarded a scholarship to the Russell J. Jandoli School of Journalism and Mass Communication at St. Bonaventure University, he resides in Churchville with his parents, Frank and Alice Cutaiar, and his brother, Frank, who is a business major at RIT. He is the grandson of Joseph and Gloria Alves and Marjory and George Cutaiar, all of Chili.
