Gillam-Grant Community Center Skate Park to get funding

New York State Assembly Republican Leader Charles H. Nesbitt will be the guest of honor at the ground breaking ceremony for the Gillam-Grant Community Center Skate Park. Assemblyman Nesbitt will present the committee that is organizing the construction of the skate park with a $15,000 check to be used towards Phase I of the project. State Senator Mary Lou Rath and Genesee County Legislator Charles Zambito will also be attending.

The Gillam-Grant Community Center Skate Park is a collaborative effort between the Gillam-Grant Community Center, the Town of Bergen and Byron, and the Byron-Bergen Central School District. When completed, the facility will include a skate park and recreation center for sports such as skateboarding, in-line skating, lacrosse and ice skating and will be available for use by the many young people in the Byron-Bergen community.

The ceremony is scheduled for Tuesday, August 20; reception at 9 a.m., ceremony at 10 a.m., at the Gillam-Grant Community Center, 6966 West Bergen Road, Bergen.
