Homes sought for two animals found in Clarkson home

Two animals were rescued from a home in Clarkson two weeks ago where the owner and another victim were discovered dead.

Town of Sweden Dog Warden Kathy Beaumont said there were four animals in the house, two dogs were caged in the basement and two cats were roaming in the house. One of the dogs didn't survive and one of the cats eluded capture. "We're not certain if the cat is still in the house or if got outside in all of the commotion," Beaumont said.

The dog is a two year old Shepard mix male named Jake and the cat is a two year old Siamese named Ginger. Beaumont hopes to find a home for the two of them together. "They have been through quite an ordeal and they are extremely attached to one another," she said.

Beaumont said she would prefer to see the animals go to a home with adults. "After what they have been through they will need extra attention," she explained.

Anyone interested in learning more about the animals is asked to call Beaumont at the Sweden-Clarkson Animal Control office at 637-4260.
