Boston University awarded academic degrees to 5,174 students this spring. Among those receiving degrees were Brockport residents Steven G. Hage, M.A.T. in social studies education; Julie K. Robinson, bachelor of art degree in biology specialization in ecology and conservation biology, cum laude.


Patrick J. Herrmann, has successfully completed his training and has passed his private pilot exam. Herrmann began flying at the age of 15, taking flying lessons from Gerry Strazzeri at Ledgedale Airpark on Colby Road in the town of Sweden. On his 16th birthday, Patrick took his first solo flight and was awarded a scholarship from Fingerlakes Aviation. This scholarship enabled him to continue his flying lessons and complete the requirements to take the private pilot exam.

Herrmann will be a senior this year at Brockport High School, and is involved with the Civil Air Patrol in Batavia with his brother, Shawn. He is hoping to continue a career in aviation once he graduates from high school. He is the son of Martin and Jane Herrmann.


Andrew Goole of Westside Drive, Rochester has been named to the dean's list for the spring quarter at Rochester Institute of Technology. A fourth-year student in the College of Applied Science and Technology, Goole is studying mechanical engineering technology. The son of Richard and Maryanne Goole, he is a 1998 graduate of Churchville-Chili High School.


Air Force Airman Chad A. Carlton has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.

Carlton is the son of Donna Carlton of Moscow Road, Hamlin and a 1997 graduate of Brockport High School.
