C-C American Sewing Guild presents quilts

In two presentations on September 23, members of the Churchville-Chili Neighborhood Group of the American Sewing Guild will present quilts they created in recognition of the sacrifices of September 11, 2001. The group of over 70 men and women participated in a project initiated by Jo-Ann Fabrics and Crafts and Jo-Ann etc. The company's aim was to remember September 11 and commemorate the event with creative thought and invited American Sewing Guild chapters to create quilts and donate them to area firehouses. The Churchville-Chili group's quilts will be displayed at the Churchville Volunteer Fire Department and at Chili Fire Company No. 2 as well as at City of Rochester fire stations. The design for the quilts is a variation on a pattern created by a Jo-Ann Stores Inc. team member Cindy Casciato and is available at area stores. Churchville-Chili group members who worked on the quilts include: Randy Cook, Gretchen Dent, Jean Enright, Earlene Finocchario, Corinne Goeke, Margaret Henderson, Sue Kalamaroff, Amy Knowles, Carole Levering, Ann McDanel, Richard McGuire, Anne Michalko, Moira Miler, Sally O'Leary, Donna Perry, Helen Stewart, Dottie Stofka. The local Sewing Guild chapter meet the second Tuesday of every month. Call Donna Perry at 594-3700 for information.
