Pet owners invited to bring pets for special blessing

Pets and pet lovers are invited to the annual Blessing of the Animals in honor of St. Francis of Assisi to be held at 11:45 a.m. in the garden of Trinity Episcopal Church, 3450 Ridge Road West at North Avenue on Sunday, October 6. Held in honor of St. Francis of Assisi, the service gives thanks for the help and companionship of pets and other animals and gives thanks for all of creation. The service concludes with a blessing of each pet. (Stuffed animals or pictures of pets may also be brought forward for blessing).

According to the rector of Trinity, the Rev. Don Hill, "Our remembrance of St. Francis helps us to take the time to give thanks for creation and to commit ourselves to live in a way that gives thanks for our pets and for all of creation which nourishes and nurtures us."

Everyone is invited to attend the service and reception following. In case of rain the service will be held in the church hall. The entrance to the church parking lot is off North Avenue.
