Gregory L. Fisher, son of Rick and Karen Fisher, Bissell Road, Bergen, has been named to the spring 2002 dean's list at St. John Fisher College in Rochester.

Fisher, a junior, is majoring in communications/ journalism.

To be eligible for the dean's list at St. John Fisher College, a student must have attained at least a 3.3 grade-point average for the semester.


Brockport artist Dianne Hickerson has received two awards for her watercolor paintings appearing in the Webster Art Club Fall Show 2002.

Hickerson was recently accepted as a "signature member" of the North East Watercolor Society by virtue of her paintings being selected for three consecutive years in the annual International Watercolor Exhibition in Kent, Connecticut. This year, "Crystal Visions" was selected for the juried exhibit at the Kent Art Association Gallery which runs until November 2.

Her other professional memberships are: the Rochester Art Club, the Pittsford Art Group, and the Niagara Frontier Watercolor Society (signature member).


Lindsay Ryan of Buffalo Road, North Chili, has been named a 2002 Eagle Scholars. Eagle Scholars must be in the top 25 percent of their class, have a grade point average of 88 or better, and 1040 SAT or 23 ACT score. The scholarship is valued at $1,000.


JoAnn Armstrong, a veteran of over a four-decade association with Easter Seals, has been named chair of Easter Seals New York - Western Region's Operational Board of Directors.

Armstrong has served as a board member for the past nine years and was most recently program chair and a member of the group's Diagnostic and Treatment Center Committee. She is also a member of the Easter Seals New York State Board of Directors.

In 1977, Armstrong, a gold medal paraolympian in swimming/track and field, founded the Easter Seals Rochester Rookies, a Junior Wheelchair Sports Team, designated for children with physical disabilities to actively participate in recreational and competitive wheelchair sports.

At present, Armstrong is president, Greater Rochester Spina Bifida Association; a board member of National Spina Bifida Association of America (SBAA) and past chair of the Youth and Adult Alliance Committee, SBAA. She is also aligned with the Steering Committee of SportsNet as well as the Regional Center for Independent Living as a program committee member. Armstrong currently volunteers at the Andrew J. Kirch Clinic, Strong Memorial Hospital being part of their children's physical disabilities clinic.

From 1973-1993, Armstrong served as an executive administrator at Eastman Kodak Company. She is a resident of the Hilton area and a graduate of Monroe Community College.


Andrew Woodbridge is participating in the 2002 Fall Professional Semester at Lycoming College.

He is student teaching at St. Boniface Elementary School and is a resident of Spencerport.
