The Charlotte-Genesee Lighthouse Historical Society and Museum will be participating in the City of Rochester's annual River Romance weekend on October 12 and 13. Scheduled events include the annual Art Show on both Saturday and Sunday and a Charlotte Cemetery tour on Sunday. The Art Show is open to the public during regular Museum hours of 1 to 5 p.m. both days. Best in Show voting by the public occurs on Saturday and Sunday's show reveals the winners.

The Charlotte cemetery tour, on Sunday, October 13, introduces you to Charlotte's earliest and most prominent citizens such as Sam Latta (Latta Road), Sam Patch, and the Hincher family, the first white settlers on the west bank of the Genesee River. For tour time and meeting place call 663-8177.

The Charlotte-Genesee Lighthouse Museum also offers an extensive exhibit on the history of the lower Genesee River gorge and mouth of the river. All events are free, but donations are appreciated.
