Blue Devils sweep Arcadia

The Brockport Blue Devils didn’t lose a single set in a 5-0 sweep over Greece Arcadia in the final regular season girl’s tennis match of the season.

Junior Cassie Webster won handily 6-0, 6-0 at first singles with sophomore Karen Hage taking second singles 6-1, 6-0 and sophomore Lauren Fery winning her third singles match 6-3, 6-2.

In doubles, seniors Jamie Duff and Denise VanderSal won 6-2, 6-3 while Erin Doe and Jennie Trenton finished off the whitewash with a 6-1, 6-3 win at second doubles.

"It’s been a good season both on the court and with the weather - this is the first time I can remember not having at least one rainout," said Brockport head coach Tina Reynolds. "I’m looking forward to team and individual sectionals coming up."

The Blue Devils were seeded third behind Spencerport and Greece Athena as team sectional play began and were to face Churchville-Chili in the first round.
