Chorus of the Genesee wins regional competition
Chorus of the Genesee wins regional competition

In a contest between 17 choruses from the Seneca Land District, which covers most of Western New York and part of Northern Pennsylvania, The Chorus of The Genesee emerged the choice of five judges by a margin of two points over the Holland Land Harmonizers from Batavia. The judging panel was comprised of men from California, Kansas, New Jersey, Florida and New York. Competition took place September 28 at Roberts Wesleyan College in North Chili. The all-male chorus earned the right to be one of 21 barber shop choruses from the United States, Canada and other countries to compete in Montreal, Quebec in 2003.

The Chorus of The Genesee is comprised of men from Rochester and surrounding towns as well as members from as far away as Watertown, Chittenango and Fulton, NY. The chorus meets every Tuesday night from 7 to 10 p.m. at Harmony House located at 58 East Main Street, Webster. Guests are always welcome to sit in on a rehearsal, join the chorus in song, and tour historic Harmony House.
