can register, get absentee ballot

Absentee ballots are available for the November 5 General Election, according to the Orleans County Board of Elections. Applications for absentee ballots must be postmarked no later than October 29 if returned to the Board by mail. The last day to apply in person for an absentee ballot is November 4.

Any registered voter who moves within the county should update their new address with the board by completing a registration form. These registration forms must be received by October 16.

Election Commissioners Helen Zelazny and Dennis Piedimonte inform Orleans County voters that all polling locations will be open for the general election. Voting hours will be from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.

The Board of Elections Office is located on the first floor of the County Administration Building at 14016 State Route 31, Albion. Anyone having questions or needing additional information can phone 589-3222 or 589-3270 between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.
