Alycia Onderdonk '06 of Churchville, earned the Mark Twain scholarship presented by Elmira College, Elmira, NY. Onderdonk is the daughter of Robert and Susan Onderdonk.

Mark Twain Scholars graduated in the top percent of their class and selection is based on their grade point average, rank in class and test scores. The Mark Twain Scholarship is valued at $48,000 over four years.


Patricia Malara of Hamlin recently passed the New York State Board to become a licensed massage therapist. She is a graduate of Brockport High School and the New York. Institute of Massage in Buffalo.

She is the daughter of Steve and JoEllen Malara of Hamlin


Two local residents are taking part in internships this semester through SUNY Oswego's Experience-Based Education Program.

They are (with their internship in parentheses): Rebecca A. Volta of King Road in Churchville, a junior finance major (Career Services Office on the SUNY Oswego campus), and Jennifer C. Rohr of North Greece a junior psychology and public relations major (Career Service Office on the SUNY Oswego campus).

The Experience-Based Education Program at Oswego places students in internships that allow them to earn college credits while garnering valuable "real life" experience.


Joan Greeno, associate broker of Nothnagle's Chili Ogden Office, was honored with the Salesperson of the Month award for the month of September, according to Robert K. Malone, Branch Manager. Salesperson of the Month is based on the highest volume of sales for that month.

During her 18 years of service with Nothnagle, Joan has received numerous other awards and designations including Lister of the Month, the "Pinnacle Award," which is awarded by the Rochester Women's Council of Realtors for outstanding commitment and service to customers, Greater Rochester Association of Realtors' Sales Master Gold Award, Chili/Ogden's "Top 10 Award" and Nothnagle's coveted "Top 25 Award" out of 600 agents in the company, for each of the last consecutive four years.

Greeno, a broker associate and notary, works primarily in residential sales, including single and multi-family homes, condominiums, townhomes, and investment properties. She also has extensive experience in new home construction and relocation services. She previously served as manager of the Chili/Ogden office during the mid 90s.

As an active member of Pearce Memorial Church in North Chili, Greeno has served on several committees, as well as being a former trustee. She resides in Chili with her husband, Larry, who is vice president for Planned Giving at Roberts Wesleyan College. She has four grown children and seven grandchildren.


Marine Corps Pvt. Jonathan T. Resides, son of Randi K. and Robert G. Resides of Meadowbrook Farms, North Chili, completed basic training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, South Carolina.

He is a 2002 graduate of Churchville-Chili High School of Churchville.


Army Pvt. Ryan F. Richards has arrived at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Aberdeen, Maryland, to complete the self-propelled field artillery systems mechanic advanced individual training course at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Aberdeen, Maryland.

Richards is the son of Fredrick C. and Mary E. Richards of Debbie Lane, Brockport and a 1998 graduate of Brockport High School.


Sean T. Sullivan has graduated from the Army ROTC (Reserve Officer Training Corps) National Advanced Leadership Camp at Fort Lewis, Tacoma, Washington.

Sullivan is the son of Laura M. Sullivan of Monroe Orleans County Line Road, Kendall and a 1998 graduate of Kendall Junior Senior High School.
