Peace Poster Contest 2002-2003
Peace Poster Contest 2002-2003

The Lions Club of Chili sponsored the Lions International Peace Poster contest for 2002-2003, with the theme Dream of Peace, at the Gates Chili Middle School and St. Pius X R.C. Elementary School.

Dozens of entries were submitted, and the final selection resulted in one winning participant for each school: Daniel Wieme, of Gates Chili Middle School, and Amanda Elizabeth Czapranski, of St. Pius X.

The club will present a certificate of appreciation and a $100 U.S. Savings Bond to each of the winners, and their posters have been forwarded to the Lions District 20-E1, Genesee Region, Governor, Lion Neil W. Newman who with his committee will judge them together with all other entries submitted by Lions clubs in this district who sponsored the contest in the schools of their respective areas. The winner at this level will also receive a certificate and a savings bond, and this poster will be sent for consideration by higher levels, up to International Lionism.

The Grand Prize for the final winner, $2,500 in cash and 23 Merit Awards of $500 each will be presented at the Lions Clubs International Day at the U.N. by International President Lion K. Fukushima."
