to see results of its work

The 40-member Long Range Planning Committee formed in 2000 by the Hilton Board of Education will re-convene on Tuesday, December 3, at 7 p.m. in the Board Meeting Room of the Quest/West Avenue Building to review the final architectural plans and drawings of the Hilton School District's $57.9 million Capital Project set to being in March.

The committee was originally responsible for a complete facilities review, scope of project, and recommendations to the Board of Education, a process which began in 2000 and reached voter approval in December 2001.

Architectural and engineering packets for state aid for three elementary schools have been submitted to the New York State Education Department for approval. High school construction and renovation plans have also been submitted to the state. Middle School plans are being finalized for submission in mid-December.

Groundbreaking is expected in March 2003 with entire project completion, including full-day kindergarten and a new eight-lane pool at the middle school, expected in 2004.
