"Fully dressed turkey" shows they helped others

Students at Churchville Elementary School donated over 970 items to be given to the local Churchville Lions Club for their annual food drive. For each item donated, a feather was added to what started out as a bare turkey displayed in the cafeteria. Students rallied together and surpassed last year's donations by more than 100 items, and this was with fewer students contributing. The classroom contributing the greatest amount of food items was Mrs. Valvano's afternoon kindergarten students, shown above with the school principal, Mrs. Murphy (shown on the right of the group). They are standing in front of the "fully dressed turkey."
