Mike McInally won the 112-pound weight class and four teammates finished second as Byron-Bergen won the 16-team Byron-Bergen Wrestling Tournament December 7. The large field featured teams as far away as Buffalo and the Southern Tier in fifteen weight classes and took almost eleven hours to complete.

McInally won three matches, including the final two by pin to take the title. Jeff Taylor at 125 pounds, Sam Herman at 140 pounds, Will Sapienza at 145 pounds and Adam Zawistowski at 189 pounds were the second place finishers for the Bees, who finished with 169.5 team points - 16 points ahead of second place North Rose-Wolcott.

Jason Jack lost his third round match at 103 pounds before wrestling back to finish third in the tournament. At 119 pounds, Steve McInally finished fourth; at 130 pounds Steve Kuszlyk was third and at 152 pounds Tyler Streeter was fourth to help the team effort.
