Hill School students present $500 to Morgan-Manning House

On December 18, fourth and fifth grade students at the Fred W. Hill School presented a check for $500 to Don Grentzinger to benefit the Morgan-Manning House. Grentzinger is a member of the Morgan-Manning House board of trustees. Eunice Chesnut, historian for the Western Monroe Historical Society which is housed in the Morgan-Manning House, also came to the Hill School for the presentation.

The money was raised by students in teachers Mary Wanzer and Eileen Jungbluth's classes through the sale of their 2002 Brockport Historical Calendar. Each year, the students study local history and architecture, select photographs, write captions for each photograph and create the calendar on computer.

The Morgan-Manning House plans to use the Hill School donation to purchase a replica horse for its newly renovated carriage house.

Proceeds from the sale of the 2003 Calendar, which is available at the Hill School for five dollars, will benefit the Emily Knapp Local History Museum.
