Holiday decorators receive awards

The Riga Recreation and Community Events Department held a Holiday Decorating Contest. Prizes were given in four categories: Creativity, Use of Lights, Theme and Judges Choice.

For Creativity, first place went to Bill Belsher, second place went to Darla Davis, and third place went to Joy Fintak and Mike Giarizzo.

For Use of Lights, first place went to Chris Van Epps and Paul VanGelder, second place went to Mike and Helen Bilak, and third place went to Tim and Mary McElligott.

For Theme, first place went to Scott Cullen, second place went to Jim and Jan Larkin, and third place went to Paula Mikols.

For Judges' Choice, first place went to Bill Belsher, second place went to Tim and Mary Ann McElligott, and third place went to Joy Fintak and Mike Giarizzo.

"Thank you for participating" went to Richard Schockow, Tricia Wright, Doug Steward, Peter and Nancy Neidrauer, Helen Post, Linda Burlingame, Nichole Hickey, Mike Brown, Helen Pimm, Mr. and Mrs. Embling and Mr. and Mrs. VanValkenberg.

Businesses that donated the prizes included Babe's Hair Salon, Body Harmony Therapeutic Massage, Churchville Tire Service, Pontillo's Pizza, Videos Plus, Town of Riga, A Touch of Country Class, One Step Tree and Lawn Care Service, Village of Churchville, and Krony's Pizza etc.
