AREA

•Heise, Evelyn Mae, Age 85, on December 24, 2002. Born in Hamlin on January 17, 1917, she was the daughter of Edward and Emma (Kelso) Hendershot. She was married to Bernard Heise on August 23, 1938 and they shared many years together as educators in Newark, New York, at their summer cottage on Seneca Lake and after retirement in Fayston, Vermont.

Mrs. Heise attended school in Brockport, and taught kindergarten for many years in Newark and Lyons, New York. An avid archer, she was inducted into the New York Field Archers and Bow Hunters Hall of Fame after she and her husband developed a Bow Hunter Education Program in 1977 that has since been established in 47 states and five Canadian provinces.

Following her husband's passing Mrs. Heise moved to Waterbury, Vermont in 1986. She leaves her son, Donald and daughter-in-law, Beverly of Calais, Vermont; her son, William and daughter-in-law, Carol of Colchester, Vermont; and five grandchildren. One of eight children, Evelyn leaves a number of relatives in the Hilton area.

BROCKPORT

•Butler, John, On December 30, 2002 at the age of 36. He is survived by his beloved children, Terence and Samantha; his brother, C. Dan (Karen) Butler; sister, Ezella (Daniel) Vargas; very dear friends and step-parents, Barbara and Jeff Medler; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral Services were held January 3 at Fowler Funeral Home Inc., Brockport. Interment, Garland Cemetery in the spring of the year.


•Holzer, Josephine M. (Pennisi), Peacefully after a long illness on December 26, 2002 at the age of 81. She was predeceased by her husband, William F. Holzer. Survived by her children, William, Josephine Bunch, Michael (Linda); four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; many dear friends.

Funeral Services and interment at the convenience of the family. Memorials can be directed to Lakeside Memorial Hospital.


CHURCHVILLE

•Bruton, Margaret M., Friday, December 27, 2002. She was predeceased by her mother and father, Mary and Leslie Bruton and her brother, Robert Bruton. She is survived by her sister, June Bruton; her sister-in-law, Ella Bruton; and several cousins and friends.

•Pimm, Ralph A. "Al," Monday, December 30, 2002 at age 77. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Evelyn J. Pimm; his sons, Gary (Jerilyn), Douglas (Sherry) and Scott (Gladys Patmore) Pimm; his daughters, Robin (Scott) Canfield, Debra (William) Woods and Brenda (Gary Napier) Coveny; brothers, Ernest and Lester Pimm; sisters Gladys Spring and Elsie Snyder; six grandchildren; one great grandson; several nieces and nephews. He was a retiree of Agway and Churchville Tire Company.

Funeral Services were held January 3 at Walker Brothers Co. Funeral Home Inc., Churchville. Interment Creekside Cemetery, Churchville. Contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society in his memory.

•McFarlane, Leah Kathryn, On Thursday, December 26, 2002. She is survived by her parents, Kristin (Timothy) Coon Sr. and Robert (Kathi) McFarlane; sister, Lindsay McFarlane; brother, Timothy Coon Jr.; step-sisters, Stephanie and Helen Coon, Melissa (Cory) Wagner and Courtney Birch; step-brothers, Jessie and Justin Draper; maternal grandparents, Richard and Sandra Phillips; paternal grandparents, Art and Carol McFarlane.

•McManus, Marilyn L. (Fouquet), Monday, December 30, 2002 at age 67. She is survived by her husband of 50 years Daniel W. McManus Jr.; her daughters, Deborah (Dana) Anderson, Laurene Hildebrant and Bonita (Michael) MacDonald; her sons, Daniel R. (Jami) McManus and Craig (Tracie) McManus; her brother Robert (Lois) Fouquet; 11 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was an employee of BOCES II and was a member of Harvey C. Noone American Legion Post #954 Auxiliary.

A Funeral Mass was said January 3 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Hamlin. Entombment While Haven Memorial Park. Contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society in her memory.


•Rogers, Elaine A. (McGarvey), December 27, 2002. Predeceased by her husband, William Rogers and a sister Nancy McGarvey. Survived by a son, Thomas (Tracy) Rogers of Gates; daughters, Cynthia Rogers of Hamlin, Lisa Rogers (Scot Read) of Hilton and Kathleen Rogers of Rochester; brother, Daniel (Carolyn) McGarvey of Melbourne, Florida; two grandchildren and two nephews.

A Memorial Mass will be held January 25, 2003 at 12 noon at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Hamlin. Memorials can be made to the American Diabetes Association.

•Bevins, Marcia (Wilson), Peacefully, December 28, 2002 age 52. She is survived by her loving husband, Barry Bevins; her parents, Richard and Elizabeth Wilson; her sister, Terri (Wim) Vanderkooy; her brother, Daniel (Marti) Wilson; mother-in-law, Bonnie Bevins; brother-in-law, Bruce (Greta) Bevins; nieces and nephews and many loving friends.

•Nasso, Ron, On December 24, 2002. Predeceased by his father, Joseph, and his sister, Patty. Survived by his best friend and wife, Jean; and his loving children, Roberta (Jeff) Bittel, Robin (Fred) Mundorff, Amanda, Andrea and Roni Nasso; nine grandchildren; his mother, Christine Cantiello Nasso; brother, Joseph (Jennifer) Nasso; many other relatives and friends.

•Gray, Marion L., Age 93, December 27, 2002. Survived by daughter, Carole (Edmund) Melville of Holley, and son, Douglas F. Gray of Lakewood, Ohio; six grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

KENDALL

•Nowicki, Frank H., 83, died Saturday, December 28, 2002 at Medina Memorial Hospital after a short illness. He worked as an Assembly laborer at the A&P factory in Brockport where he retired after 30 years of service. Mr. Nowicki was a member of St. Mary's Church, Albion and enjoyed working in his garden.

He is survived by a sister-in-law, Mary Nowicki of Brockport; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Six brothers and sisters predecease him.

A Funeral Mass was said December 31 at St. Mary's Church. Interment, St. Joseph's Cemetery. Memorials can be made to St. Mary's Church.


SPENCERPORT

•King, Edith Marion, Former resident of Spencerport, died December 27, 2002 at age 65 in Loretto, Syracuse, NY. Edith retired from Kodak in 1991 after 21 years as a Camera Tech/Instructor. She is survived by two sisters, Jean M. Russell and Julie R. King; two brothers, Alan L. King and David N. King all of Syracuse.

Funeral Services will be held 12 noon Saturday, January 11 at the Gates Funeral Home, 29 West Genesee Street, Baldwinsville, New York. Burial, Riverview Cemetery, Baldwinsville. Contributions can be made to a favorite charity of one's choice in her memory.

•Wohlers, Richard D., Sunday, December 22, 2002 in Naples, Florida. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy J. Wohlers; his children David (Sherry) Wohlers of Spencerport, Dale (Peggy) Wohlers of Spencerport, Darlene (Doc) Piper of Rochester, Candy Englant (fiance Bob Kneeter) of Naples, Florida and Cindy (Ken) Rombaut of Brockport; nine grandchildren, Todd (Carol) Wohlers, Christina Wohlers, Scott (Bridget) Wohlers, Teri (Jamie) Cunningham, Brian, Lisa and Jamie Englant, Kevin and Kyle Rombaut; two great grandchildren, Casey Wohlers and Bradley Cunningham; brothers Rodney (Vera), Merton, Carlton and Bruce (Eileen) Wohlers; several nieces and nephews. He was former developer and owner of Salmon Creek and Arrowhead Golf Clubs.

•Wright, Mildred I. (Monks), Sunday, December 22, 2002 at age 86. She was predeceased by her husband, Ed Wright. She is survived by her sons, William H. Hoderland of Penfield, Marvin (Mary Ellen) Wright and Keith (Bette) Wright, both of Tampa, Florida; her sister Arlene Hutchings of Rochester; 11 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
