"The Erie Canal Present and Future" topic
of talk at Brockport's Morgan Manning House

Amanda Mason will speak on "The Erie Canal Present and Future" at the Morgan Manning House at 151 Main Street in Brockport. The program is scheduled for Wednesday, January 22, from 7:30 to 9 p.m.

The talk and slide show will cover revitalization projects under way or planned for Brockport and other canal towns.

Mason represents the Landmark Society of Western New York. She is member of the 18-member Western Erie Canal Heritage Corridor Planning Commission based in Rochester. The group was created to plan for the preservation and protection of natural and cultural resources of the Western New York Area.

A resident of Brockport, Mason received her bachelor of science degree in anthropology from SUNY College at Brockport and her master's degree in anthropology at the University of Maryland at College Park.

The program is sponsored by the Western Monroe Historical Society. Refreshments will be served. Admission is free and open to the public.
