Girl Scouts make hats for cancer patients

Junior Girl Scout Troop 944 of Spencerport undertook the construction of fleece hats for cancer patients. In December, 10 scouts, with the assistance of leaders Sherie Connors and Heather Evans and two mothers, machine sewed 47 cancer caps. These caps were then delivered to the Rochester Chapter of The American Sewing Guild. From there, the Guild delivered the hats to hospitals and doctor's offices. The hats are placed in waiting rooms for cancer patients to take free of charge. The hats enable the patients to maintain their dignity during their treatment.
