Jeffrey C. Povelaites, a resident of Rochester, was named to the dean's list for the fall 2002 semester at Alfred University. He is a junior in the NYS College of Ceramics. Students must earn at least a 3.3 grade point average to qualify for dean's list.

Povelaites is a Ceramic Engineering major at Alfred University and a graduate of Aquinas Institute Rochester. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Povelaites of Rochester.


Karl A. Gnann, a resident of Holley, was named to the dean's list for the fall 2002 semester at Alfred University. He is a senior in the NYS College of Ceramics. Students must earn at least a 3.3 grade point average to qualify for dean's list.

Gnann is a Ceramic Engineering major at Alfred University and a graduate of Holley High School. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Donald P. Gnann of Holley.


Amanda N. Morse, a member of the Colgate University Class of 2005, has been inducted into the Colgate chapter of the national scholastic honorary society of Phi Eta Sigma, which recognizes the outstanding academic achievement of first-year students.

The 100 students who were honored at the fall banquet on November 6, 2002 had earned averages of at least 3.5 during their first year at Colgate.

Morse, currently a sophomore at Colgate, is the daughter of Harvey and Ruth Morse, Bergen and a graduate of Byron-Bergen High School.


Dennis Colburn, of Hale Haven Drive, Hilton, has been named to the dean's list for the fall quarter at Rochester Institute of Technology.

A fourth-year student in the College of Science, Colburn is studying computer math. He is the son of Al and Janet Colburn, of Hilton, and a 1999 graduate of Hilton Central High School.


Emily Olney, of Ogden Parma Town Line Road, Spencerport, has been named to the dean's list for the fall quarter at Rochester Institute of Technology. A fifth-year BS/MS student in the Kate Gleason College of Engineering, Olney is studying industrial engineering. The daughter of Thomas and Nancy Olney, she is a 1998 graduate of Spencerport High School.
