The 9th Annual Hy Burritt Tournament was hosted by the Hilton Lady Cadets on January 2, with this year's participants Wilson Lady Wildcats, Bishop Kearney Lady Kings and Elba Lady Lancers. In the first round of action, after opening up a 21-0 lead in the first quarter, the Lady Lancers of Elba, led by Sara Dorman scoring nine points, cruised to an easy first round victory 50-31. The second game of the first round featured the Hilton Lady Cadets vs. Bishop Kearney Lady Kings. Danielle Marble scored a career high 14 points and Amy Pratt also had 14, while Marisa Clark chipped in with 11 points and 11 steals to lead Hilton to a 60-39 win.

In the consolation game, played on January 4, Bishop Kearney and Wilson played a hard fought game with the Lady Kings prevailing 41-32. Natalie Sheppher led the Lady Kings with 10 rebounds. In the championship game, Hilton came out hitting on all cylinders with Marisa Clark hitting for 10 points in the first quarter on 4 for 4 shooting including two 3-pointers.

The Cadets set the tone for the rest of the game, opening a 17-5 first quarter lead and never looked back. Jessie Doran had her career high of 11 points and Clark finished with 15 points and six steals for Hilton. Sara Dorman finished with seven points for Elba. Hilton rolled to a 51-30 championship win.

It was the second Hy Burritt Championship in a row for the Lady Cadets who improved to 4-5 overall. Amy Pratt and Jessie Doran of Hilton, Sarah Dorman of Elba, Katie Serika of Bishop Kearney and Makeda Johnson of Wilson were named to the All-Tournament Team. Marisa Clark of host Hilton was voted Tournament MVP for the second consecutive year. Elba was 8-0 and ranked #1 in New York Class "D" coming into the championship game.
