SUNY Brockport wrestling remains second in nation
Record six wrestlers ranked nationally

The SUNY Brockport wrestling team remains ranked second in the Brute/Adidas National Wrestling Coaches Association Rankings. The new rankings were released last week, the first rankings since December 10.

Wartburg College (Iowa) is ranked #1, while Brockport is second for the second straight poll. Augsburg College of Minnesota is third and Wisconsin-LaCrosse is fourth. Loras (Iowa) is #5. All top five teams remained in the same rankings from the previous poll.

Individually, the Golden Eagles have six athletes ranked nationally. This is the largest total of Golden Eagle wrestlers ranked nationally in Coach Don Murray's 34-year history of guiding the program.

Senior Sal Cruz (Long Beach/Long Beach) is ranked seventh in the 125 weight class, while sophomore Dan Roberts (Bellport/Bellport) is ranked #4 at 133. In 141, senior Kris Harrington (Caledonia/Caledonia-Mumford) is ranked second and senior Lenny Baker (Athol/Warrensburg) is also ranked second in the 149 weight class.

Senior Artie Weidler (Patchogue/Patchogue) is ranked seventh in the 165 weight class, and senior Tevon Fordyce (Amityville/Copaigue) has a #6 ranking in 184.

The Golden Eagles are 1-0 in duals and have been idle since December 7. Brockport's last match was January 10-11 at the Virginia Duals in Hampton, Virginia.
