Jaime Dengal, a senior at Kendall High School, was selected for the second year as a student ambassador by the People to People Program. Last year Dengal traveled to England, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Germany. This past summer she went to Australia and New Zealand for three weeks with 40 students and four adults leaders. Dengal is the daughter of Judith Dengal and resides in Holley.


Suzanne M. Ley graduated from the University of Buffalo in May earning a bachelor ofarts degree, magna cum laude/Phi Beta Kappa in Political Science with a minor in Russian Language. She had been honored with membership in the Phi Eta Sigma National Honor Society, the Golden Key National Honor Society, Who's Who Among American University Students and the National Dean's List. She was also a member in Pi Sigma Epsilon, a national business fraternity, the University level of the Model United Nations and was Academic Clubs Coordinator for the Student Association, in which she also served as vice president.

Ley is now living in Uzbekistan, a former Soviet Republic in Central Asia, where she will be teaching Business and English at the university level, as a member of the Peace Corp. Ley is the daughter of Harold and Peggy Ley of Ogden and is a 1995 graduate of Churchville-Chili High School.


Bonnie Sandera has been named Recreation and Community Service Director for the Town of Riga. She has most recently been employed as Youth Program Director for the Town of Ogden. Prior to moving to Rochester, Sandera was employed by the YMCA of Greater Houston, where she managed several recreation and community programs. Sandera's main focus will be to increase the quality and enrollment of the Summer Camp and Senior Citizens program. She resides in Ogden with husband, Mike and sons, Kevin and Gregory.


Deran L. Bissonette, of Spencerport, received a bachelors of arts degree in political science from Michigan State University in May.


Navy Fireman Recruit William A. Ewsuk, son of Katie V. and William C. Ewsuk of Hilltop Lane, Spencerport, completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, III.

Ewsuk is a 2001 graduate of Wilson High School of Spencerport.


Captain Eric J. Beers, son of Dr. and Mrs. Morris I. Beers of Brockport, has been acknowledged for his outstanding work as an instructor for the U.S. Air Force.

Beers was recognized as an "Unsung Warrior Hero of Squadron Officer College" because of his sincere dedication and exceptional work.

Beers has been serving as an instructor at the Squadron Officer College of the Air University located at Maxwell Air Force Base in Montgomery, Alabama since his return from England in July 2002.

Beers, his wife, Lisa, and their two children, Nathan, age 4, and Lauren, age 2, live in Prattville, Alabama.
