Charlene Husser, daughter of Bill and Anne Marie Husser, Ogden Parma Town Line Road, Spencerport, has been named to the fall 2002 dean's list at St. John Fisher College in Rochester.

Husser, a junior, is an elementary/special education major.

To be eligible for the dean's list at St. John Fisher College, a student must have attained at least a 3.3 grade-point average for the semester.


Andrew Meyers, son of Gregg and Renee Meyers, Churchville, is named to the dean's list for the first semester of the 2002-03 school year at Hope College, Holland, Michigan. To be named to the dean's list a student must have a minimum 3.5 grade point average on a 4.0 scale.


Alfred State College awarded Mark Stowe of Churchville an approximately $3,000 "Presidential Scholarship." Stowe is slated to graduate in 2003 from Churchville-Chili Central School and intends to enroll in the construction management technology program.

The "Presidential Scholarship" (free room, double occupancy) is awarded to students who possess a 90 or better high school average through their junior year and who have achieved a minimum SAT score of 1150 or a composite ACT score of 25. Recipients must maintain a required GPA (grade point average) to continue to receive free room in subsequent semesters.


Meghan O. Shea was named to the dean's list for the fall semester at Saint Anselm College, Manchester, New Hampshire.

Shea is a member of the class of 2003 and the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kelly M. Shea of Rochester.

To be eligible for this honor, a student must compile a quality point average of 3.0 or better.


Keri Sexstone, daughter of John and Patricia Sexstone, Denishire Drive, Rochester, has been named to the fall 2002 dean's list at St. John Fisher College in Rochester. Sexstone, a sophomore, is a childhood and special education major.

To be eligible for the dean's list at St. John Fisher College, a student must have attained at least a 3.3 grade-point average for the semester.


The following undergraduate students have been named to the dean's list for the fall semester at Baldwin-Wallace College, Berea, Ohio.

  • Joshua Poole, Church Road, Hilton;
  • Timothy Fisher, Battle Green Drive, Rochester.

Erin M. Lemcke has been named to the dean's list for the fall quarter at Rochester Institute of Technology. A third-year student in the College of Science, Lemcke is studying ultrasound. The daughter of Rick and Donna Lemcke, she is a 2000 graduate of Aquinas Institute of Rochester.


Alexis E. Henion, daughter of Eileen and Tom Henion, Curtis Road, Hilton, has been named to the fall 2002 dean's list at St. John Fisher College in Rochester. Henion, a freshman, is a biology and computer science major. She carried 21 credits for the semester.

To be eligible for the dean's list at St. John Fisher College, a student must have attained at least a 3.3 grade-point average for the semester.


Teresa Thompson graduated summa cum laude and has been awarded a bachelor of arts degree in anthropology, with a minor in Spanish, from Binghamton University August 2002.

She is a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Society as well as the Golden Key International Honor Society. Her parents are Connie and Jim Graves and Neil Thompson.


Candice Rockell, daughter of Jim and Lee Rockell of Dean Road, Spencerport, has been named to the fall 2002 dean's list at St. John Fisher College in Rochester.

Rockell, a freshman, is a math/science/technology major.

To be eligible for the dean's list at St. John Fisher College, a student must have attained at least a 3.3 grade-point average for the semester.


Lara Rockell, daughter of Jim and Lee Rockell, Dean Road, Spencerport has been named to the fall 2002 dean's list at St. John Fisher College in Rochester.

Rockell, a junior, is a nursing major.

To be eligible for the dean's list at St. John Fisher College, a student must have attained at least a 3.3 grade-point average for the semester.


Megan Krahe has qualified for the dean's honors list at SUNY Canton for the fall 2002 semester where she is studying criminal investigation. She is a 2002 graduate of Brockport High School and is the daughter of Michael and Pamela Krahe of Brockport.


Sarla M. Mael of Kendall has been named to the dean's list for the fall semester at SUNY Oswego. Mael is a senior studying elementary education at Oswego.

To be included on the dean's list, students must have a semester grade average of 3.30 to 3.79.


Chris Callari, a Hilton resident and bond manager at Marsh USA Inc., was recognized as the Insurance Professional of the Year by the Independent Insurance Agents of Monroe County, the Society of CPCU, and the Insurance Professionals of Rochester.

Callari received this honor at Insurance Day in October 2002.


Marc Filotas, son of Frank and Joanne Filotas, Larkwood Drive, has been named to the fall 2002 dean's list at St. John Fisher College.

Filotas, a senior, is a business management major. He is a 1999 graduate of Spencerport High School.

To be eligible for the dean's list at St. John Fisher College, a student must have attained at least a 3.3 grade-point average for the semester.


Jennifer MacMullen, daughter of Jack and Joanne MacMullen, Jamee Lane, Rochester, has been named to the fall 2002 dean's list at St. John Fisher College.

MacMullen, a sophomore, is a biology major. She is a 2001 graduate of Spencerport schools.

To be eligible for the dean's list at St. John Fisher College, a student must have attained at least a 3.3 grade-point average for the semester.


Christine McGovern, daughter of Michael and Jayne McGovern, Windmill Trail, Ogden, has been named to the fall 2002 dean's list at St. John Fisher College.

McGovern, a freshman, is a psychology/pre-med major.

To be eligible for the dean's list at St. John Fisher College, a student must have attained at least a 3.3 grade-point average for the semester.


Kimberly Goddard, daughter of David and Jennifer Goddard, Sagewood Drive, Spencerport, was named to the dean's list at State University of New York College at Cortland.

She is a 2001 graduate of Spencerport High School and is majoring in elementary and special education.


Brandon Steinorth, son of Mr. and Mrs. Rob Steinorth, Hilton, has been named to the fall 2002 dean's list at Ithaca College.

A senior, Steinorth is a secondary history education major. Dean's list is earned by receiving a 3.5 GPA or higher. Steinorth received a 3.95. He is a 1999 graduate of Hilton High School and a 2003 candidate for graduation at Ithaca.

Dr. John M. Anderson, provost and academic vice president at Alfred State College, has announced the dean's list of students for the fall 2002 semester.

Students from the Alfred campus are selected for the dean's list if they maintain a 3.25 grade point average (GPA) out of a possible 4.0; students from the School of Applied (formerly Vocational) Technology Campus in Wellsville must maintain a 3.5 grade point average (GPA) to make the dean's list.

Tapped for the fall 2002 dean's list are the following students. Straight A students are indicated by an asterisk.

The following area students were named to the dean's list for their outstanding academic performance last semester at Roberts Wesleyan College. Kathryn Becker, highest honors, Churchville; Kelly Radel, high honors, Spencerport; Kimberly Reed, high honors, Rochester; Emily Shewan, highest honors, Churchville; Kari Simmons, high honors, North Chili.

The criteria for recognitions are honors, grade point average ranging from 3.30 to 3.59; high honors, grade point average ranging from 3.60 to 3.84; highest honors, grade point average ranging from 3.85 to 4.0.


Monroe County residents have been awarded scholarships to attend Alfred State College.

Matthew Ruf of Spencerport was awarded approximately $9,000 for the Excellence in Education Scholarship. Ruf is slated to graduate in 2003 from Spencerport High School and intends to enroll in the veterinary technology program.

Christopher Cosgrove of Rochester was awarded approximately $2,000 for the All-American Scholarship. Cosgrove is slated to graduate in 2003 from Hilton Central High School and intends to enroll in the computer science program.

Dean Sherwood of Rochester was awarded a $500 Educational Foundation Academic Distinction Scholarship. Sherwood is slated to graduate in 2003 from Joseph C. Wilson Magnet High School and intends to enroll in the building trades-building construction program.


Air National Guard Airman 1st Class Jeremy J. Kneut graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.

He is the son of Deborah and Michael Mannix of Lawrence Road, Hilton. Kneut is a 2002 graduate of Brockport High School.


Air Force Airman William D. Pilcher graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.

Pilcher is the son of David and Diane Pilcher of Southwind Way, Rochester. He graduated from Churchville-Chili High School in 2002.
