Extra Mile award On December 30, at the Hamlin Town Hall, Charles Hungerford was awarded the Extra Mile award. This award is designed to recognize Hamlin residents who have shown an act of kindness, done a good deed, or gone the extra mile. A letter from Nancy Wheeler nominated Charles Hungerford for his good deeds and outstanding willingness to help. He has helped with the Hamlin Wheel Fest, provided the wagon for the Fall Harvest parties with Hamlin Recreation, has volunteered at the Hamlin, Morton, Walker and Hilton Fire Departments and has donated his time and service at the Hamlin Community Day Care Center.
